About

The Spot Backpackers is on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast, 90km's south of Durban and 5km off the N2 national highway. You can get to The Spot easily by driving, taking a bus on any mainline route between Durban and Cape Town or flying into Durban and taking a shuttle service from there. We are also a Baz Bus stop.

This little spot is a hidden treasure right on the beach. The Spot Backpackers offers a range of accommodation for travelers looking for a special beach stay on a budget. The en-suite log cabin is popular with couples, but we also have double rooms, dorms and ample camping space.

The South Coast is well-known for its sandy golden beaches, year-round good weather and great surf. There are beach walks, amazing hikes, the world’s highest gorge swing, kitesurfing, standing up paddle boards and just kicking back & enjoying a chilled drink at the end of the day. All the action that doesn't happen on the beach, happens in the bar!

One of the best rated dive sites in the world. Dive with Ragged Tooth Sharks, Tiger Sharks, Bull Sharks, Black tips & Manta Rays, Dolphins and Whale Sharks.
We can arrange dives for beginner to advanced dives at Protea Banks and Aliwal Shoal, which is rated one of the top 6 dive sites in the world. It’s famous for its sharks, rays & turtles.
